Our 3 Year Commercial Guarantee (chargeable)

For just 10% of your purchased price (including VAT), we’ll cover your products for 3 years in total. We believe our guarantee demonstrates incredible value. Not only are our prices significantly cheaper than our competitors, but we include a host of other benefits, including:

  • TV replacement. Naturally, models do change so, while we can’t guarantee that it will be the same model, we do guarantee that it will have equivalent specifications. Ts&Cs apply. See below for details.
  • Full parts and labour cover. If your unit goes wrong, we’ll fix it. No quibbles and no fuss. See below for details.
  • TV collection/return service (43" and over). Carting a screen around can be a tricky business. To save you any unnecessary hassle, should your screen need repairing, we’ll pick it up from your business and return it as soon as it’s ready.
  • 45-day cooling-off period. If you’re not happy with our 3 Year Guarantee package, just ask for a full refund – no questions asked. This is as long as it is within 45 days of the purchase date and no claim has been made.

EXTENDED TERMS & CONDITIONS OF A RICHER SOUNDS 3 YEAR COMMERICAL GUARANTEE

Please note you have the right to cancel your policy at any time up to 45 days from the date of purchase. Please also note that after the 45-day period, providing no claim has been made, you have the right to terminate your contract at any time and receive a pro-rata refund. Should you wish to cancel/terminate your policy, simply return your certificate to your local store.

What is covered?

  1. Exchange for a like-for-like serviced product of similar condition, where possible (subject to Condition 8 below).
  2. If we are unable to offer an exchange, we will cover full parts and labour in the event of repair.
  3. Remote controls are covered as part of this guarantee for genuine faults or defects.

Agreement:

Richer Sounds agrees, subject to the following conditions and exceptions, to extend the guarantee for the product for the benefit of the bearer within the duration of the extended guarantee, which is valid in the UK only. The bearer will not be charged for repairs to, or replacement of, the extended guaranteed product(s) in the event of electrical or mechanical failure. The Company’s liability is limited to the lower of the original purchase price of the product or its current value. (Current value means the cost of replacement of the product immediately prior to the time of failure with an item of similar age, specification and condition.)

Exceptions as listed on the certificate
This agreement does not cover:

  1. Costs for which the manufacturer, supplier or any other person, may be held responsible under the terms of any existing guarantee or warranty.
  2. Failures arising from or due to:
    1. Failure to comply with the manufacturer’s instructions for use, whether by the named or any other person.
    2. The use of accessories which have not been approved by the manufacturer.
    3. The application of an incorrect or abnormal electrical supply or signal lead connection, defects in external wiring or in the electrical connection not forming part of the product covered.
    4. Negligent or wilful abuse or misuse of the product covered, including accidental damage and failure to comply with the manufacturer’s guidelines for general care, maintenance and cleaning (such as the regular removal and cleaning of filters on projectors or avoiding aerosol cleaners on screens and lenses).
    5. Fire, flood, lightning, theft, explosion, or other causes external to the product covered.
    6. Scratching or denting from the direct application of a tool.
    7. Accidental damage.
    8. Damage caused by tearing, scratching, chewing or fouling by animals or insects.
    9. Repairs to exterior paintwork/finishes, external fuses or wires, aerials (other than those which are an internal part of the equipment), cosmetic items i.e. knobs, loss or damage to trim etc.
    10. Repairs to components subject to wear and tear (such as lamps for projectors).
    11. Repairs carried out by anyone other than Richer Sounds or its authorised repairers.
    12. Loss of use of the product covered or consequential loss of any nature.
    13. Costs incurred in respect of the removal or reinstallation of equipment.
    14. Loss of damage occasioned by happening through or in consequence of war, invasion, act of foreign enemy hostilities (whether war be declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution or civil commotion.
    15. Screen burn or image retention.
    16. The cost of modifying any cupboards, storage units or any work surfaces where the product is built in and may become obsolete upon provision of a replacement product.
    17. Individual applications or features on Smart products and their continued operation are not covered by this guarantee, as manufacturers of the product or providers of the apps reserve the right to update, modify or remove support entirely.
    18. Damage, malfunction or performance degradation caused by ingress of foreign materials and/or creatures.
  3. Consumables supplied with the product are not covered under this extended guarantee. These include, but are not limited to, batteries/rechargeable batteries, lamps, styli, and any other item supplied with the product that has a defined lifespan from the manufacturer.

Conditions as per certificate

  1. This guarantee is not transferable.
  2. All benefits under the agreement will cease if:
    1. Richer Sounds has any reasonable grounds to believe that your claim is in any way dishonest or exaggerated. Your claim and/or guarantee may become invalid and no refund of the cover, or any remaining terms of the cover, will be offered.
    2. A fraudulent claim is made.
    3. The product covered is at any time used for anything other than exclusively commercial purposes.
    4. A cash settlement in lieu of repairs is made, or a faulty unit is exchanged for a different model.
  3. If the Company, or its authorised repairer, considers the product covered to be beyond economic repair if brand new parts were used, the Company may at its option choose to use a refurbished or reclaimed part to mitigate against this.
  4. Refund or settlement that is agreed in either cash or vouchers shall not exceed the current retail value of the item(s) covered by the 3 Year Commercial Guarantee.
  5. If the Company, or its authorised repairer, considers the product covered to be beyond economic repair, the Company may at its option replace with an equivalent or similar product (which will come from our available stock and which may also include refurbished items), or pay to the named person an agreed sum in lieu thereof, taking into consideration the usage and age of the product and the current market price of a new replacement product.
  6. The cost of replacing a part destroyed or damaged or no longer available shall not exceed the manufacturer’s last published price of the part.
  7. If the Company accepts there is a claim under this agreement, but there is a disagreement in respect of the amount to be paid, then the matter will be referred to an Arbitrator appointed in accordance with current statutory provisions. The Arbitrator must make an award before there is any right of action against the Company.
  8. Following settlement of a total loss claim the agreement expires.
  9. Guarantee applies in the UK mainland only.
  10. If we need to swap your faulty unit with a similarly specified replacement, we will need all of the accessories of the original, otherwise a nominal charge may be applied to replace those that are missing. Please keep all accessories safe for the length of the guarantee period.

This agreement does not affect your statutory rights.
